Michael Cyger of iSixSigma.com keynoting at BuddyCamp!

At BuddyCamp Vancouver, there will be a range of sectors represented from education, to government to not-for-profits, to business.

We are very pleased to announce that Michael Cyger, the founder and owner/publisher of iSixSigma.com, will be coming up from Seattle to BuddyCamp Vancouver and sharing his company’s lessons learned from migrating from Joomla to WordPress/BuddyPress and tips on community-building tactics!

Michael Cyger is an entrepreneur, businessman, investor, speaker and author. He received his business education in corporate America at GE and Citigroup, leadership training at Crotonville (GE’s John F. Welch Leadership Center), and ability to solve problems through formal education in engineering, GE’s prestigious Edison Engineering Program, years of Six Sigma training, and lots of practice. Cyger is a certified Green Belt at GE Power Systems in 1996, served as a Master Black Belt for GE Capital Commercial Equipment Finance, and worked on a Six Sigma deployment at Citigroup.

iSixSigma.com was launched in 2000, sold in 2008, migrated to Joomla in 2009, and shut down in 2011. Re-purchased as assets with 143,000 unique readers per month, iSixSigma.com was re-launched 1.5 months later using a combination of WordPress, BuddyPress, bbPress and CubePoints.

Michael will actually be doing two presentations, one keynote presentation on the morning of Oct. 14th focused on the community-building tactics used at iSixSigma.com that doubled traffic in six months as well as one that will be part of the developer track in the afternoon, “Migrating Joomla to WordPress/BuddyPress in 1.5 month” that will share insights on the critical aspects of migration.
